This is the first time Ive been on here in a while, and I dont know what to think. Reading about all the fun everyone is having, all the plans being made, new friends, whatever. Reading about how everyone hates Tucson, making myself feel like the sucker because Id give anything to be home again, and not just for a couple weeks. I miss being able to call my friends. I miss being able to just get in my truck and do whatever I want, go where ever, eat what ever. Its as if the world stopped spinning for me and Im watching everyone in hindsight, holding on to the memories We made. I try and put on a facade, but I think Ive reached the end of my rope and I need to let it out.
The past 15 months of my life has been such a sobering experience, and it really hasnt caught up until recently. I love what Im doing and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to come over here and try and do something to help, but sometimes when I stop to think, its like goddamn, what the fuck is happening, and why am I no longer able to think like I used to? I work, and then I come "home" sit on my bed, and hang my head in my hands, trying to sort everything out. What am I going to do when I get home? What am I going to do next month? Next Week? Tomorrow? The instability makes it impossible to ground myself, I feel like a child who wanders into a movie with no frame of reference (that one was for nick.) I miss stressing out about all the petty bullshit that happens in the real world. The shitty part is I dont think Ill ever have that luxury again. Its like I am completely whole but dont have the mind to function, trapped in a hell I cant escape. 3 months...

15 generations ago the Dark Elves crossed the forgotten realm into our land of the chosen peoples, and with them rode the demons pestilence, famine, and war. They conquered the sacred lands, burning and slaying everything. We were forced into the dark cavernous abyss to live as rats. Now after raping our blessed land with none to challenge them for ages, the Elves have grown sluggish in wit and battle. Confident they sat in a kingdom that does not belong to them, while we patiently watched, but the shadows have foes, and in the darkness we have gathered. The Elves will pay for their transgressions. Tonight, we march on the false kings.

    <lj:music>Catch 22</lj:music>

So, in lieu of Caitlin and Nick's posts, here is my official Ryan Duel female companionship checklist:

-Like small dogs (or big cuddly ones, not pitbulls/rotweilers/any other human eating breeds)
-Be in shape (If I can run 2 miles in 12 and a half minutes, you should be able to do so in 16. If not, then see next bullet)
-Love exercising. If not, your ass is going to train with me.
-Be able to be financially independent (I dont mind squiring my dame for a night on the town, but if you think Im gonna support your ass then youre crazy)
-Enjoy rollerskating and/or skateboarding.
-Like pasta and bread (Two of my favorite foods. If you can cook pasta, thats a plus)
-Accept and/or respect the fact that Im in the military.
-Enjoy just staying at home and watching a movie or playing video games or something. Im all for going out and having fun, but a bigger part of me is a homebody. Next bulletin is an exception to this one.
-Like going on roadtrips/vacations, whether it be for a couple days or a month.
-Have an eclectic taste in music (I like almost literally every style of music, and my taste changes rapidly.)
-Not be a dumbass.
-Have some stubstance/not be a dense bitch.
-Be open minded.
-Able to carry out an intelligent conversation.
-Have some direction in life/goals.
-Like cuddling.
-Like text messaging.
-Be clean (This is open to interpretation and has many meanings)

I think thats about it. Oh no, wait:

-Like offroading and doing outdoors stuff such as shooting guns or camping.
-Must be willing to play hours of Trial Bike and other sweet online games.

Does this woman exist? Is my list really too much to ask for?

so apparently wearing a military uniform while doing volunteer community service to help out homeless people is a "conflict of interest". some dickhead sergeant had the nerve to bust my balls tonight because i was wearing my uniform while donating my time to raise money for charity. and i might get in trouble for it.
